THRESHOLD PROTOCOLS
SCREENLESS IMMERSION · RESEARCH · 2025
Threshold Protocols is a research-based exploration of screenless immersion: how can human perception be activated, spatialized, and heightened when visual interfaces disappear? Conceived as a phenomenological rite of passage, the work invites participants to cross a threshold where light, sound, acoustic resonance, and material conditions act not as representations, but as direct physical stimuli. Stripped of optical cues, listening becomes spatial orientation, touch and movement become ways of reading space, and the body itself becomes the interface.
Developed as a collaborative research project at the intersection of sound composition, spatial design, and interactive architecture, Threshold Protocols proposes a critical counter-statement to digital disembodiment: not an abstract, disembodied realm, but a palpable territory where the immaterial takes form through raw sensation, heightened attention, and physical encounter.
